Article Title: Compensatory Renal Hypertrophy and the Uptake of Cysteine S -Conjugates of Hg 2+ in Isolated S2 Proximal Tubular Segments
doi: 10.1093/toxsci/kfw160
Figure Lengend Snippet: Individual S2 segments of non-perfused proximal tubules. S2 segments of rabbit proximal tubules were dissected from kidneys of control and uninephrectomized (NPX) rabbits and placed in a chamber slide containing dissection buffer. Tubules were viewed at×400 using an Olympus IX53 inverted microscope with Hoffman optics. Photomicrographs of the tubules were obtained using a ProgRes C5 camera and Jenoptik software. Measurements of the inner and outer tubular diameters were made using the calibrated scale tool in the Jenoptik program (n = 3).
Article Snippet: These non-perfused tubules were viewed at a magnification of 100× using an Olympus IX53 inverted microscope with Hoffman optics.
